Berlen Lodge Basco Batanes

Berlen Lodge

Immense to a lovely Basco house that served as our home for five nights. They have hot and cold showers, a kitchen, water dispenser, both air-conditioned and fan rooms, and a TV set on both floors (something you might need in case you get stranded for two weeks, waiting for sunny days, like one of their previous visitor did).

You’ll find this cozy lodge with a beautiful garden in Barangay Kayhuvukan, just a few meters away from the Basco airport. Previously a house rented for sewing business, it’s now accommodating the growing number of tourists flocking the town.

The two story-house comes with three hosts: Mommy Ellen, Tatay Berting, and Ate Auring — all treating guests as if they are long lost relatives, giving tips and advice, every chance they get.

Here you could rent a bike at Php 25 per hour or stay indoors and pitch a folding bed on the roof deck, have a clear and unobstructed view of the sunset at the back of the Basco lighthouse, pass time by watching the moon slowly rise from the back of Mt. Iraya, count the stars, have some chitchats (or perhaps some drinks!) with new friends, then call it a night.
