Miao: First Cat Cafe in Manila

Step inside the purry-tale kingdom situated in the northern side of Manila, serving human meals, four times a day.

Tucked inside the second floor of Cake2Go in Congressional Avenue, amongst the rows of spa, fast food chains, and grocery store establishments, is the unassuming, barely a month old Miao Cat Cafe.

Opening last Valentine’s Day, Miao offers not just a first of its kind concept in Manila but also simple food that will keep you coming back for more –from pastries, to pasta, to roasted chicken served with brown rice (which is YUM! by the way!). A selection of drinks, both warm and cold, (try Yoghurt milkshake!) add to the comforting, nourishing choices.

Since they are relatively new, the owners are still polishing their menu so stay tuned for more options.

The cafe currently houses 11 cats you may opt to observe, play with, or bow down to.

But before you do all of these –you have to contact them via Facebook or phone call as they allow guests via reservation only.

There is a door fee of P300 for adult and P150 for kids which is valid for one meal and one drink.

Once there, you will be asked to wear slippers, as provided by the store, read their rules, disinfect your hands, and then sign at their “guestbook.”

Miao House Miao Rules

1. Please disinfect before playing with us.
2. Please don’t pick us up.
3. No poking our faces.
4. No pulling our tails and whiskers.
5. No pinching.
6. Do not feed us with your human food.
7. Take plenty of pictures but please no flashes.
8. Do not wake us up when we’re sleeping or play with us when we’re eating.
9. Now give me that love and affection.
