Pili-pino Wrapsody

My family has recently been on a Camarines Sur-Albay trip (I wasn’t able to go with them because of a prior engagement) and their pasalubong for me was, aside from delightful stories, this homemade pili nut wrapped in pastry flakes called Wrapsody.

The packaging says this Albay delicacy is “made from carefully selected pili nuts, concocted meticulously to come up with the one and only Wrapsody.”

Interestingly enough, one bite and the pastry flake wrapper will crumble down. And while I’m busy picking up the small pieces, my mouth was engulfed with the caramelized sugar melting side by side with the bits of pili nuts, enough for me to want more.

The serving is a bit small for me, though. But I rest my case as I can eat up 2-3 packages in just one seating.

This sweet treat is a unique Filipino delicacy that is definitely one great pasalubong when you’re around the Bicol region.
