From a distance, the island of Coron is reminiscent to a crown with its thorn-like structure in the guise of karst forests, mountainous domes, and uneven cliffs. This royal haven boasts with a wealth of marine life and majestic landscape that showcases captivating lakes, pristine white beaches, and world-class diving sites. So no doubt that if you want paradise, then Coron will give you just that.
How to get to Coron
In order to go to Coron, you must first travel to Busuanga via commercial airlines such as PAL Express and Cebu Pacific, which has daily flights. The air travel will take about one hour and twenty minutes from Manila.
From Busuanga airport, rent a van bound to Coron town proper. This ride would usually take 45 minutes and would cost Php 150/person.
What to do in Coron
There are countless of things to do in Coron that maybe two or three times of stay here wouldn’t equate to the massive discoveries that this place has to offer. But so far, here are my explorations and future adventures:
- Trekking
- Mountain biking
- Hotsprings
- Explore the safari wonders of Calauit
- Diving/snorkeling
- Island hopping
- Swimming
- Cashew tasting
- Pearl shopping
Budget:
Php 10,000 – 12,000/head
We’re a big group of vacationers consisting of three families with kids mainly, so the easier the travel is, the better.
And so, we opted for a tour package worth Php 6,800/head which covers our airport transfers, hotel accommodation, boat transfers, island entrance fees, lunch, and snacks. Hassle-free vacation, isn’t it?
While on vacation, I have a little to almost none awareness of time (didn’t even bother about the sun, lol pardon the sunburn on my feet!) so I just recalled our itinerary via my check-ins at foursquare.
