Lola Cafe + Bar: A Hidden Resto in QC

Finding a restaurant that suits my family’s taste buds (particularly my Grandmother’s) is an adventure. Since Filipino dish is the safest option, and because I still want to try a new restaurant, I gave Lola Cafe + Bar in Tomas Morato a try.

Scanning the net for reviews about the place, I became more excited to try it since every blog I stumble upon rave about it. So without further ado, it’s decided then that for Papa’s birthday dinner, we’ll do it at Lola Cafe.

How to get there
Situationed in Scout Tuazon corner Scout Lozano, the place would be a bit hard to find if one is not familiar with the place. But asking resident guards around wouldn’t hurt.

The place wasn’t located exactly in the corner, it’s residing beside the corner. So if you have a car with you, you might just have passed the cafe if you’re coming from the main streets of Tomas Morato.

Brief Background
It is said that this cafe was a residential house turned into an establishment. True to its homey vibes, the food they offer and the service they provide surprisingly didn’t disappoint. Mixing Filipino palette with a hint of Korean and Western influences, Lola Cafe is surely one of my favorite resto in the city.

Located in the first floor is the Bar. If you want a more casual and homey vibes, proceed to the second floor where the dining area is.

Oh, they also serve wines too! In case you’re the type who celebrates big and small achievements over a casual wine, you will like it here.

Price Range: Php 500/head
It is much better if you go here with your family or friends, to maximize the price and food.

Now for the food…

Simple mushroom soup as appetizer. Not a fan but still good, though.

Served with bacon bits, this one’s unlike your ordinary salad. It’s too yummy to be healthy!

There’s a war between the flavors of Kimchi and Caldereta. It doesn’t go well with each other.

Now who doesn’t like meat overload in their Nachos?

Not much impressed with this one. It tastes like plain carbonara.

The best tasting Rosemary Chicken I’ve tried so far! I expected it to be simple but I was wrong! So wrong. This one is so juicy; tasty inside and out. Not to mention the good aroma of the rosemary, pleasing to the senses.

The peanut sauce is fantastic! I’m a fan of peanuts and this one is just right for my appetite. Love it!

Php95 for three piece of this sweet treat. It’s a bit expensive, to think that it’s only a merengue with cream, mangoes, and pistachios on top. But it’s really yummy! Nice way to cap your meal.

Will I order it next time?
Meh
Yeah
✔ ✔ Oh, yeah!

Overall:
Yeah: Location, ambiance, attentive staff, good food
